ARTIST STATEMENT

Along my journey as an artist, I found inspiration at an early age by watching my father paint, also an artist.  In addition, other artists and teachers have given me, and continue to give me, the tools to express my feelings and experiment with various techniques.  Some of those teachers were from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, and Main Line Center of the Arts in Haverford, Pennsylvania. Another source of inspiration was participating as an Art Docent at the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento, CA where I not only studied artists and their paintings, but gave tours to many visitors of all ages.  I also have to add that listening to Classical  or Country  music, along with great composers, continues to inspire me  when I paint.

My art pieces are a reflection of my past life experiences; from boating, travel, and being surrounded by nature, viewing fields, sunsets, oceans, trees and flowers. In addition my expression and love of color gives me a feeling of joy, exuberance, and energy.  When I do find something so beautiful in my everyday travels that I cannot resist, I photograph the image as a reference to inspire me to paint.

My Impressionistic and realistic styles can be seen in many of my paintings.  From time to time you may find abstract paintings in my gallery as  a result of my art studies at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA.

My goal is to continue to bring as much joy to others and myself in creating new art pieces.
